Save Space With 8 Non Food Kits to Vacuum Seal
I imagine most of us are familiar with using the vacuum cleaner and vacuum bags to seal up blankets and sweaters. We do this to save space when storing them after the winter. If you haven’t tried it, you’d be amazed how much space you save!
The folks at Homestead Dreamer have a post on adapting this idea on a smaller scale for prepping use. Not only can you save space but, and maybe more importantly, you can waterproof your kits.
Here is just one of their suggestions:
Small Clothes Pack
Things like socks, underwear, and t shirts are sometimes referred to “small clothes.” Having a pack of these items sealed and dry is a huge comfort to have in your pack. No matter what you’re doing outside, having clean and dry clothing that is protected from the elements until you need them is invaluable! It can greatly improve moral, not to mention help save a person from hypothermia. Though bulky to start out with, the packs are incredibly small once sealed. Try rolling the clothing up to make sure it will fit in the bag to be sealed.
- Thermal clothing
- Gloves and Hat
Be sure and read the whole thing and think about what you can come up with.
