The Scarcest Thing In A Survival Situation
If you’ve been into prepping or survival for even just a few weeks, you probably know by now that, the three most important things you need to survive are – water, shelter and food and in that order. But you can only carry so much water and food if you have to bug out. And any shelter you carry will be temporary at best.
The Prepper Journal take a look at some items that become scarce quickly in a survival and grid down situation. And, as they point out, these are important and you need to stock up on them. Which ones and how much depends on what your plans are – bugging out or bugging in.
But there is one thing that trumps all else and is used in ALL situations. Be sure and read the Prepper Journal’s entire article but I will cut to the chase here in my post. That one essential item that trumps all else is KNOWLEDGE!
If you run out of food and water or your shelter isn’t adequate, KNOWING how to acquire these things is critical. I know, I know, we all don’t have time to attend survival school or spend weeks in the woods learning all this stuff. There is another way and I’m not saying it’s the best answer but, it’s better than nothing.
First, get yourself a tablet. Amazon has a Kindle for under $50 here: Fire Tablet, 7″ Display, Wi-Fi, 8 GB – Includes Special Offers, Black
Then head over to my post “High Tech Preppers: Building the Ultimate Survival Tablet ” Follow the links there to download tons of free survival information. Then, get more free ebooks at my 4001 Free downloads post.
Next, get yourself a portable and fold-able solar charger like this Anker one for under $60: Anker 21W 2-Port USB Solar Charger PowerPort Solar for iPhone 6/6 Plus, iPad Air 2/mini 3, Galaxy S6/S6 Edge and More
In the end, for just over $100, you’ll have a complete, portable library with a power source and all the knowledge you’ll need to survive!
I’m not saying the survival tablet is the best way to go – nothing beats experience – but, again, it’s better than nothing and for around $100 you can’t go wrong.
